We had a beautiful sunny wind-free day at the lake. Luckily most of the snow has melted off the beach, so we were able to do our regular afternoon walk down the beach. The dogs were thrilled of course... so many awesome smells from all the wild animals that move in once the human inhabitants are gone. 04/27/23
Our 'macro' world still appears to be only brown and grey, so it's necesary to look close, and when you do - there's so much to be seen. This oak leaf spent a cozy winter buried deep beneath the snow, surrounded by prairie grasses. Looking closer, I have to wonder if the ladybug spent the winter there as well. It seemed to be alive, but only barely. I'm hoping the warmth of the sun will bring her back to life.... 04/23/23 ps... we are adventuring up to the lake tomorrow, so if all goes well, I'll be missing a few days here. Hopefully I will return with some half decent photos!
Our winter paths across the Prairie are the last to loose their snow. We were lucky with the last storm, missed most of the snow - this morning looks like spring may have actually arrived! But... it's risky to get too excited, spring is proving to be a real trickster this year, lol. 04/22/23
