Don't ask me what the purpose of that yellow machine was. I have no idea, but I was very happy when it finally turned out of our lane. Thanks for all your comments yesterday on our Freedom Convoy. There are guesses that there are now 100.000 vehicles which is impossible to imagine! This morning they are pulling in to Ottawa and arriving at the Parliament Buildings. The story unfolds. Today we will be joining the Manitoba Convoy that will, once again, be rolling around Winnipeg, ending in a rally at the Legislative Buildings. Local support is happening all over the country, in all the captial citiies, as far as I know. Interesting times we are living in! 01/29/22
On Monday, January 24th, we joined the Freedom Convoy 2022 - I wonder if you've heard of this massive movement that is happening right now in Canada? Over 50,000 trucks have gathered into what is now a record breaking Convoy (Guiness World Record!) that began on each coast and is converging on the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa tomorrow. The Convoy from the west coast, at this point, is estimated to be 150 km long. More than 11,000 trucks from the USA have also joined! This is a protest that the entire world is now watching. The truckers are demanding the lifting of all mandates in Canada, many news outlets are focusing on the enforced vaccination border regulations which began earlier this month... that will choke our supply of goods and cripple the trucking industry....this was the proverbial straw that has awakened the giant .... but this is about SO much more than that. We want our Freedom back. We demand our Freedom back. Tens of thousands of cheering shouting Canadians have met them and driven with them at every town and city they have rolled through. This has brought our massive country together with one amazing voice. It is the biggest freedom movement in the entire world right now... and it is also encouraging other countries to do the same. Australia and New Zealand, and I think Germany and Denmark will do the same beginning on February 4th. Anyway... this is a photo from our personal contribution to the movement. On Monday, the Manitoba truckers joined in a Convoy that circled Winnipeg for 4 hours. On Tuesday the big Convoy arrived and this group joined them as they headed east. Unfortunately we couldn't join, but we would have loved to! I know you can't really see much in this photo. I discovered that when you are in a convoy, all you really see is the back of the truck in front of you, lol. The real story is found in the thousands of videos taken by the people on the side of the highways and the truckers themselves. If you google Freedom Convoy 2022.... you can find these videos. They will touch you deeply, I promise. 01/28/22
With a good covering of snow, the residents of the Prairie are sleeping soundly. At least that's the way it looks to me! 01/27/22
