One more photo of a happy Crocus family in the warm spring sunshine, and then the blizzard hit. I used to always have my scizzors handy and trim away all those bits of old growth that seemed to spoil the picture but then I realized that this was all part of the story of our wild and native plants and now I leave them as I find them. It's much more challenging to get the photo I want, but I feel it says more this way..... I hope you agree. 04/20/21 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
This little Crocus family shows the different stages of it's unfolding process.... they have a tough challenge, battling the overgrowth of the dead grasses from the previous year. They also battle the weather... and the deer... but they always make it through! Thanks for the lovely 'welcome back' yesterday, I've missed you guys! 04/19/21 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
On April 7, our little Prairie Crocus arrived in it's usual magical way..... popping up out of the still frozen ground, scattered around the Prairie. With the arrival of the Crocus on the ground and the geese in the air - it's definitely spring around here and so very welcome! 04/18/21 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
