I like how the pretty bands of colour show up with this top down view. It is so humbling to think that so much of our food depends on the diligent work of this busy little worker. 06/24/21

Named for it's leaves that turn silvery-grey as the summer progresses - this Native plant is doing well on our Prairie this year in spite of our continuing drought conditions. It has a very deep tap root, as do most Native Priairie plants, so it can thrive in almost all conditions and survives fire well. It is one of the very few true Prairie shrubs and can be centuries old and only grow 3 ft tall. 06/22/21 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
