Every snowmobile trail in the province has to be carefully marked at every driveway and road crossing, both for safety and for direction. So in the fall, all the signs have to be set up and in the spring all the signs have to come down. I’m not much for snowmobiling but my husband is and the club he belongs to relies on volunteer help to get projects like this done. So I helped him get his assigned part of the trail finished, and this is the pile we added to… and no, we didn’t pull up all of them, but they are all from our local club. It’s a sure sign of spring when the snowmobile trails close. Finally the weather is co-operating, and warm sunny days are upon us. I hope it is the same for you too…!! 04/08/20
Back when we thought we had spring - we set up a fire in the backyard and roasted some hot dogs for lunch. What a thrill it was to sit outside in the sun! Little did we know how quickly and dramatically it would end…. but then, it’s all part of spring here in Manitoba. 05/07/20
I thought you might like a closer look at the cute little Juncos that joined us for a few days during the storm. Yesterday warmed up nicely, it was a beautiful sunny day, above freezing all day and by late afternoon, the crowd had thinned out considerably. I wish they had stayed a little longer, if they are heading north they will not be in for an easy journey. They got a lot more snow up there than we did, and the temps are colder. Such tough little birds, I admire them so much… and I miss them already. 04/06/20
