So sad to see….you don’t have to look far before finding sights like this along any river bank, probably the world over. On the far bank you can see the remains of a burnt out river boat. It was actually in use not that long ago, but vandalism has destroyed it and the expense of removing it has left it abandoned. 10/28/20
There are only a couple of paths crisscrossing our Prairie, one for the humans and two for the deer. I like to think that the deer know, as do the humans, that the less we walk on the Prairie, the more grateful it is. That’s why keeping to the path is the kindest thing we all can do. Although, of course, the deer can sleep and eat wherever they choose. That all comes with being 'special guests'. :) 10/27/20 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
The snow came for a few days, then the sun came out and melted the snow, then a little more snow came…. and then the sun came out, and now all the snow is gone, and this is how my little piece of Native Prairie looks now. I love it at this time of year…. the subtle changes in colour follow the different species of grass, and all the seeds for next year are hidden, secreted away to rest until spring. Nature’s timeless story, waiting to unfold. 10/26/20 www.jmcqueenphoto.com
