Often things are not what they seem to be. At first glance this 6 acre field of Native Prairie doesn’t look like anything special - but it most certainly is. Look closer and you will find an entire ecosystem, evolving and changing in its own unique way, every year so different than the year before. It will not always flourish, some years are tough - too hot, too dry, too many insects, too little snow. But it has the freedom to express itself fully, however it chooses to be, without interference. This is the definition of freedom and sometimes the price of freedom can be like that - a harsh and difficult choice. The Prairie reminds me of that, whenever I take the time to look beyond the surface. Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends, enjoy your freedom to celebrate! 11/26/20
Our transition from autumn to winter often feels like the ‘Season of Waiting’. Sometimes we don’t even know what we are waiting for, we’re just waiting for something to happen.
