I hope someone can ID this little plant. It’s very small and definitely some sort of ground cover, but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere in my books or on the internet. Any ideas? 09/01/19
These little wild onions are blooming now on the Prairie, not many - but a few, scattered here and there. They smell just like an onion and their stems & bulbs are both edible. Because I’ve never been able to find very many, I haven’t tasted them. It doesn’t seem right to pull one up just because I’m curious. Thanks for sticking with me as I work my way through some of my favourite Native Prairie photos from this summer. I made myself a promise that I would try to be more vigilant about capturing every species as they bloomed. It's been a little tricky because we've been away at the lake so much, but all in all, the project has been quite successful.... :-)) 08/31/19
Bergamot & Purple Prairie Clover sharing the Prairie & looking pretty together. In spite of the drought, our little piece of Prairie is still green, everything is just smaller, shorter and not as robust as it would have been with more rain. 08/30/19
