This unique formation of rock is found on the eastern shore of Lake Manitoba, about 200 miles north of Winnipeg, and a few miles north of our summer home.
The cliffs of Steep Rock are made of limestone and over thousands of years, wave action has molded them into sheer drops, caves and other unusual geological formations. It is also one of the most photographed locations in Manitoba. These cliffs become quite spectacular at certain times of the year, just at sunset when they reflect the colour of the sky and will actually appear to glow.
So far, I’ve managed to miss this phenomenon but will definitely keep trying.
Thanks for viewing & commenting on my summer memories, I really enjoy sharing them with you....
