I think this is a jeuvenile Downy Woodpecker - he spent a lot of time in the bird bath this summer, definitely one of the regulars. 09/08/19
Our little fishing boat, safely up on it’s lift, waiting for the storm to roll through. 09/07/19
All it takes in one enthusiastic bather who refuses to leave and the crowd begins to loose their patience… One would assume that a bird bath by a large freshwater lake would be a little redundant, but not so. Our bird bath is an extremely popular attraction, so I set up my camera with my longest lens, on a tripod, with a remote control and entertained myself from afar by taking many (many!) pictures whenever anyone arrived for a drink, a bath or both. This shot is one of my favourites. I am quite dismal at bird ID-ing, but I think the bather is a Catbird and the other two are possibly Yellow Warblers? I’m hoping our resident Warbler expert might help? (hello Wayne!) It’s definitely not the best bird picture ever, but it could be one of the funniest - I just love the look on that Catbird’s face! 09/06/19
