Northern Manitoba has many abandoned farm sights just like this one. It’s a sad testament to changing times and the loss of a lifestyle. Times must have been tough for the settlers who chose this area - it’s all trees & rocks, the land is good for cattle but not for growing crops. When we are up in lake country, we love to go for evening drives, looking for sunsets and small abandoned stories like this one, almost hidden from view. My daughter from BC arrives today for a short visit, I will do my best to keep up with commenting, but I’d better apologize ahead of time for falling behind. Will catch up when I can! 06/04/19
The tree swallow pair that won the bid for the best bird house on the block. They seem to be a very happy couple, lots of singing, no squabbling, and lots of renovations underway. 06/03/19
Very busy days over the last 2 weeks with all the birds returning and scrambling for homes. It’s full time entertainment just watching all the going’s on… This well loved old birdhouse is prime real estate and the centre of lots of action. The grand winner is this little tree swallow and his favourite gal. Nest building will now commence! 06/02/19
