Guess what I got for Christmas? I’m joining the ranks of you folks with your lens balls and am discovering it’s rather a steep learning curve. John & Judy - you make it look so easy! Brushing snow off the car

The last of the family going home after the Christmas gathering at our house. Most of our extended family lives close by and it is easy for us to spend time together. So many families are not so lucky these days, so we do make a point of appreciating when we can all be in one place - together - especially at this time of year. 12/23/19

'Tis the season

For family gatherings. There is one very noticeable difference between family visits in summer and family visits in winter - the amount of space needed for footwear left at the door. :) 12/22/19

Return of the light

Happy Solstice! The return of the sun - definitely cause for celebration! 16 hours of darkness every day is enough already! I am more than ready to begin the long climb back up to summer and it's glorious 16 hours of light! (taken a couple of months ago at the lake) 12/21/19

Cheeky little sparrow

Soaking up the morning sunshine, probably trying to warm up a little bit. Thanks for your thoughts on our ravens vs the sparrows yesterday, very much appreciated. I am quite relieved to know that they are not responsible for our diminishing sparrow numbers. More likely they have found a more sheltered feeder in the neighbourhood, much warmer for them to be out of the wind. 12/07/19
