So peaceful & quiet .....

Fishing 'til the light is gone.

Unfortunately, the fishing was not what was expected. But the time spent out on the water was still a wonderful experience, especially as the sun was setting.

Our first camping trip, in June, to Manipogo Provincial Park, on the northern shores of Lake Manitoba.

Manipogo is a beautiful campground, known as 'Manitoba's best kept secret", we totally agree.

The campsites are very private, it was peaceful and quiet (we were the only ones there, most of the time!), and the grounds are clean and beautifully maintained.

Our campsite looked right out over the channel where we kept our boat, and then further on, you can see the big Lake.

Little did we know that the week we spent in Manipogo would be the best weather of the whole summer. It was actually hot and sunny!! Perfect weather for sitting out in our 'patio' with a cool drink and a good book.

Batten down the hatches!! Storms are a'comin! Time to pack up and leave....

From Manipogo, we headed directly west to Child's Lake in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park, north of Riding Mountain Park.

Child's Lake is beautiful, but our campsite was far from the water, buried deep in the bush.

We had a great time, there, met friends and family, and before you know it! It's time to pack up and head for home.

Beginning of August, and we spend a few days at Caddy Lake in the Whiteshell Prov. Park. Had a wonderful time with family and their friends....

And yes, all the campsites look much the same, guess you have to be there to appreciate the differences!!
