Baby Robins by Janet
Almost ready to leave the nest. The first thing I did after the storm was check all the nests, and unbelievably, everyone was just fine! What a relief! 07/02/20
The Stare (by janet)
Although Seagulls are literally everywhere, I find them fascinating in their own way. Have you ever noticed how they seem to be a rather friendly, chatty sort of bird… until they look at you? And then suddenly, they seem just a little bit frightening. Perhaps the Jekyll and Hyde of the bird world? 07/21/20
I am always amazed at the fantastic ’Birds In Flight’ images that we often see in our Daily Photos. They really are incredibly difficult to shoot. I find them almost impossible and have pretty much a zero success rate - if only birds would not fly quite so fast, I would have a lot more luck. Or if they would just hover overhead, like this Seagull, who was basically motionless in the wind - it makes it much easier to get the shot. 07/22/20
Waiting for her ship to come in? (by Janet)
Seagulls are such expressive characters, aren’t they? I watched this one for awhile and she was just staring off into the horizon, lost in thought. One has to wonder - what do seagulls think about? Maybe they have big dreams, just like we do. Maybe Jonathon Livingstone Seagull wasn’t fiction after all…. Only the seagulls know for sure, I suppose. 07/20/20
Ruffled Grouse by Janet
This handsome fellow (whom I believe to be Ruffled Grouse) was a stranger in our neighbourhood, it seems no one had ever seen him before. I was lucky enough to spot him strolling down our lane, definitely on some sort of important mission. He seemed unconcerned with me or my camera and simply continued on his way, with a very determined attitude, evenutally flying into the trees and disappearing as mysteriously as he arrived. 07/18/20
