This is my mother. She is in her 99th year, living in our local Personal Care Home and making the best of her life, just as she has always done.
She grew up in England and as a young physician, spent the war in India as a Medical Officer, married just after the war and then a few years later, with 3 young children moved to Canada. She spent the rest of her working life as a 'country doctor' in the two small towns we lived in & then enjoyed a long, full retirement.
She will be the first to tell you that she has lived a very good life and although her circumstances now are very difficult, she has never lost her cheerful, polite and caring way of being with others. Her gentle, loving hands & heart have touched so many lives.
Thank you so very much for all your thoughts on my shot of her hands yesterday.... it's a very meaningful image for me.
(I couldn't decide if I liked the colour or b & w version better, if you have a minute, maybe you could tell me what you think....http://www.jmcqueenphoto.com/Photography/Whats-New/13970630_NZMcVD#!i=2200296413&k=bFbXpBf )
